Whimsical Wibblers Card by Anjie
Did you manage to get the Whimsical Wibblers collection when it launched at Crafting Live Sandown a couple of weeks ago? Anjie is here to share with you a “how to” blog featuring an aperture card she has made using this die collection!
For this card you will need:
- Whimsical Wibblers collection and printed reflections
- White Cardstock
- Patterned Paper
- Adhesives/Foam Pads
- Step 1, Start with a 20cm square piece of white card, a 19.5cm square of coloured card and a 19cm square piece of patterned paper. I have used one from the MCS Best Of Vol 7 as the colours were perfect for these reflections.
- Step 2, Cut out your reflections and extras if you wish to decoupage. I always do as it adds more interest.
- Step 3, Line the 20cm piece of white card, the coloured card and the paper up. Use a piece of low tack tape to hold them together. Lay your wreath image over the top where you would like it, and then place the centre die in the middle so you get the perfect placing. Run through your cutting machine to create the aperture.
- Step 4, To create the mat layer for your wreath, place all three wreath dies on your magnetic sheet and line up. Carefully remove the wreath die leaving the outer and inner piece in place and cut using a piece of white card stock.
- Step 5, Take the piece of white card with the aperture and make a card blank with a piece of 21×20 card, scoring one at 1cm to use as the fold. Mat and layer the coloured card and paper and place 3D foam on the back and place on the card blank lining up the aperture.
- Step 6, Glue the wreath reflection to the layer you created in step 4 and place some foam tape on the back of it. For the swing I used 3 of them cut in white card glued to the back of the printed one to give it some strength. Place the swing where you would like it and try the wreath over it without removing the backing tape from the foam.
- Step 7, When you are happy with the placement of the swing carefully remove the wreath and add some wet glue to the top of the swing where it will stick to the back of the wreath. Put the wreath back over picking the swing up and make sure it’s glued together.
- Step 8, Use some red liner tape at the bottom of the swing and stick a strip of acetate to it to support the Wibbler you use.
- Step 9, Glue the Wibbler to the swig and acetate, be careful not to stick it to the back of the card blank. Then add some of the easter eggs around the wreath using 3D glue gel or foam pads. You can leave it there if you like or add some of the smaller swings and Wibblers to the top and bottom like I have done.
