Looking for a great last minute Christmas project? Anjie is back with another great step by step. This time around Anjie has created a piece of wall art using A Quirky Christmas collection from Quirky Bird.
You will need
Quirky Bird A Quirky Christmas
Two Red Robins Festive Bird Song Backing Paper Download 4
A Box Frame
Foam Pads
3D Glue Gel
A White Pen
Silver Twine
- Choose a background and have lots of die cuts from the collection ready.
- For the large buildings in the collection you’ll need 3 of each to create some decoupage. A Christmas Cottage already has its own decoupage, this will give you some ideas on how to create your own from the Christmas Village die set.
- When layering up buildings I use 3D foam pads as you don’t need to shape the decoupage. I try to place the foam pads in the same places on the pieces to make the finished decoupage more stable.
- When assembled arrange the buildings on the background where you would like them. Before you stick them down use some of the smaller buildings behind them to create a row of house further away. When you are happy with the positioning stick them all down.
- Use some trees and fences from Christmas Village die set in between the buildings to fill the gaps. Use some of the bushes decoupage as clouds, add some stars and snowflakes to the sky. Take a piece of thread and place it a couple of centimetres from the top. Hold in place on the back with sticky tape. Then shape some of the smaller mittens from Nested Mittens die set, and stockings from the Nested Stockings die set and place them so they’re just over the top of the thread using 3D glue gel. Slot in the tops of them some candy canes and lollies from the Sweet Treats Die Set. Add a poinsettia and some foliage from the Christmas Foliage Die Set to fill the gaps.
- Use a white gel pen to create some snow in the sky and on the roofs of the buildings, and on the poinsettia. Add in a frame of your choice. You could make your own using the Craftmaster 3D Frames, or just use as a card front. There you have a lovely piece of art work to hang on your wall at Christmas, or to gift as a present for a loved one. Can you imagine receiving one of these instead of a Christmas card, how fabulous would that be!
