Have you met Maurice and Maisie yet?
Sometimes you want a scene on your project, sometimes you want a backing paper! The Tuesday Treat for 26th September is a fabulous set of backing papers which can be used within My Craft Studio or simply printed as they are and will give some contrast in your matting and layering too!
Our fabulous duo Maurice & Maisie are the perfect focal point for many occasions from birthday and engagement to sorry and get well soon!
Vikki has created a fabulous card using this die with a scene she created in My Craft Studio and Amber has recreated it using the Tuesday Treat backgrounds for you to show the difference you can add by simply switching the design in the background!
Here’s how they both made their cards:
You Will Need:
Tuesday Treat Backgrounds download
White cardstock
Dark blue cardstock
Scene created using MCS
Small magnets
- 1.Cut a 20cm square from white cardstock. Cut, score and fold the square as shown on the template in the image.
- 2. Mat the small magnets onto the outer corners of the bottom squares.
- 3. Cut four 9cm squares from dark blue cardstock and cut two diagonally into triangles. Cut two 8.5cm squares from printed scenes or backgrounds and cut diagonally into triangles. Cut three 8.7cm squares from printed scenes. Mat all triangle scenes onto triangle mats and all squares scenes onto square mats. Save one square scene for step 6. Cut a 6cm x 7cm rectangle from acetate and score and fold a 1cm tab at the bottom of the rectangle. Attach onto the bottom left square of the card.
- 4. Cut the Maurice and Maisie die five times from the reflections and trim the die cuts as shown.
- 5. Build up the decoupage and mat together with 3d glue gel.
- 6.Mat the die cuts onto the acetate. Tear a corner of the remaining square scene and mat below the acetate. Mat the remaining branches onto the corner. Cut a 6.5cm x 3cm rectangle from a printed sentiment and mat onto the left fold of the card.
- Amber created this alternative version of the card using our Tuesday Treat download of 8 backing papers!
