5×7” Card Using Two Red Robins – Flower Of The Month Rhododendron Collection by Kath W
Hello crafters! My tutorial for this week is a pretty 5 x 7” garden scene card!
You will need:
- Scene 070 from Two Red Robins Simply Scenes download
- White A4 card stock
- Silver card stock
- Construction acetate
- Red liner tape
- Wet glue
- Foam pads
- Glue gel
- Flower Of The Month Over The Edge Rhododendron die and reflection
- Scoreboard
- Scissors
- Pencil
- Eraser
- Step 1 Place A4 white card stock (short side) against the top of your scoreboard. Score and cut at 5”. Turn card lengthways, score card again at 7”. Fold and burnish.
- Step 2 Measure 4” down from the top-left side of the card, mark with pencil. Repeat on the right-hand side down at 2”.
- Step 3 Use a pencil and ruler to draw a line from the 4” mark to the 2” mark, and cut along the line.
- Step 4 Draw around the top of the card to create templates for the mat and layers. Cut 1/4” off the short side and straight top edge, repeat this step using template 1 to create template 2.
- Step 5 Cut a piece of acetate down to 5 x 7”. Add red liner tape to the top-inside of the card. Take the liner tape baking off, position the acetate onto the base of the card (lie it flat), and close the card to fix the acetate in place.
- Step 6 Use the first template, draw around the silver mirror card stock, and cut it out with scissors. Cut the inner Silver mat layer down to 4 3/4” x 6 3/4” glue both pieces to the card.(I used foam pads for the top piece)
- Step 7 Repeat the above steps with the scene, this time cut the oblong layer down to 4 1/2” x 6 1/2”. Glue on-top of the silver mat.
- I took another part of the scene to create the top layer.
- Step 8 Die-cut the over-the-edge Rhododendron reflection 4 times, add red liner tape to the back of the first layer, and stick to the front of the card. Decoupage the other layers using glue gel.
- Step 9 Add a sentiment to the bottom and your card is complete!
Happy crafting everyone 😊 from Kath W

I like this card very much and will have a go at making it
