Witches Hat Step By Step by Kath
Thank you for all your lovely comments on the Spooky Street pop up card step by step. Today I wanted to share the tutorial for the witches hat treats box!
For this project, you will need;
Black Card
Craft Master Dot & Dash Circle dies
Glue
In The Studio Spooky Street dies and artwork
Glitter

- Step 1 Cut 4 circles from black card using the largest circle die use a smaller die to cut out the centre from the middle of two of them. You will need to cut another hole in one at the last stage (explained later on.)

- Step2 Make yourself a hat template by rolling an A4 piece of black card into a cone shape cut the excess off the bottom to make a rounded edge

- Step 3 Measure in from the bottom around 1 cm draw a pencil line score and cut notches all along the edge, roll back into a cone shape place inside the circle that has an hole cut from it to make sure it fits inside snug then glue along the side of the cone when happy it fits nicely.

- Step 4 Using wet glue, add a small amount to the bottom of each notch. Place centrally over one of the circles (with the holes). Hold in place until stuck firmly then place the other circle with the hole in over the top of the hat and glue in place – this will hide the notches.

- The notches will be sandwiched in between the two circles.

- Step 5 This step is a little tricky it’s hard to give exact measurements as you need to make sure the tube fits snug inside the hat. Cut an rectangle of black card roll into a tube and place inside the hat making sure it fits snug and goes up into the hat (about a third of the way). While it is inside, mark the bottom of the tube with a pencil. Pull out and draw straight across the bottom, score then leave an extra cm before trimming to size. Cut notches up to the pencil mark , roll the tube back up and place inside the hat holding to check it fits. Hold in place carefully pull back out and glue along the edges hold for a minute or two until the tube is set.

- Step 6 Place your tube back inside the hat put a small amount of glue on each notch place the whole hat onto of the final circle until it fits perfectly hold In place until set. You can hide the notches by adding the last circle layer with a circle cut into with a die that will fit over the tube just play around to see what die fits best.

- Step 7 Now the fun bit! Decorate with your characters from ITS spooky street add glitter ribbon or what ever you want ! I hope you enjoy my witches hat tutorial happy crafting from Kath 😊
