Mindful Moodling with watercolour paints
I approach all my Mindful Moodling work as a way of decompressing, distressing, my ME time – so when new products arrive at Highlight Crafts then I can just allow myself the time to really play.
I have been experimenting with different watercolours by Mozart, combined with the Royal & Langnickel watercolour paper.
I always use the Mozart Komorebi metallic paints as they are highly pigmented, these stay on my desk to be used constantly.
- Armed with the Royal and Langnickel paper I used a permanent black fineliner to create circular patterns. I create wobbly lines then it really doesn’t matter if they are not straight.
- I then add little blocks of black, like a checker board, the fineliner has to be permanent otherwise it bleeds.
- I add further details to the circles using the black fineliner.
- Next I used the set of 40 Mozart Komorebi Watercolours, I set the colour scheme as cool colours on the inside with warm colours in the background.
- The paints are amazing the are so very rich, highly pigmented and very much like the ink style Japanese paints that are highly sort after.
- I used the Royal & Langnickel brushes to create all different techniques, the paper allowed me to highly blend the colours together.
- To create more intense colours wait for the paints to dry and add another layer.
- When happy with the colours and it’s all dry then add white pens, gold and silver highlights. I always use the metallic paints with a fine rigger brush. To finish these little A5 pictures I use larger white frames which make the work pop. Play around with the colour placement to get different looks!
