Make a show board with me
When we go to air with our shows you may have noticed that we always bring black boards – we use these to showcase the product and collections. The board featured here is for an upcoming show called Daffodil Brook, one of our new 2023 collections, where the Two Red Robins continue their journey into the Cottages.
It doesn’t look very exciting when I start with these plain black boards but read on to see the magic happen…
I then cut all the dies from white card stock and lay them out on a board, checking the spacing.
For the next step, I print and cut the Reflections. ‘Reflections’ is the name we give to the downloadable, printable artwork that corresponds with the dies. Wherever possible we use the same layout so that our customers can see the corresponding white cuts and Reflections.
This picture shows all the cuts ready for me to use to create a compilation/topper.
I like to separate and lay all the images out, this is where I shape and choose which pieces, I’m going to decoupage, I cut all my decoupage pieces and build them ready to use on the board.
Next I start arranging all the pieces on the board before I start gluing them in to place. This gives me the chance to make changes and move things around until I’m happy with the layout and balance, just like when we’re making a card, picture, or home décor.
One of these black boards are made for each die within a collection, helping us to be able to show all our customers all the fabulous cuts, colours, and inspiration.
Tune in from 8pm tonight to see Stephanie demonstrating this collection, hopefully this will give you a bit more insight into how those display boards are created!
I hope you enjoyed this insight into our crafty working days, let us know if you enjoyed reading!
