Let’s make a Valentines card…
Love is in the air and here at Highlight HQ we thought we would celebrate with a step-by-step tutorial for a pretty Valentine’s Day card.
Begin by taking, or making, an 8×8” card blank.
Add your first mat layer in gold, cut to just under a quarter of an inch smaller than the card base. Stick to the card base using finger lift tape.
Add your next layer in deep red card, cut again to just under a quarter of an inch smaller than the previous layer. Stick to the gold mat layer using finger lift tape.
Next, on to a layer of white card stock, stick a sheet of plain rice paper. Fold the rice paper around the edge of the card and secure using red liner tape.
Stick this rice paper layer to your card base using foam tape.
Cut your From The Heart Wreath and add this to the centre of your card. Stick using white glue.
Next, cut and add your Heartfelt reflection and centre this over the wreath. Stick using foam pads to lift it from the background of your card.
Cut three more layers of the Heartfelt reflection and begin adding decoupage layers. Snip into the reflection, cutting away the green leaves to create your first decoupage layer. Stick this to the previous layer using 3-dimensional gel glue.
Repeat the above step, but this time, cut the next decoupage layer cutting away more of the background of the roses. Keep building the decoupage layers using 3-dimensional glue.
Finish by decoupaging the final layer, using the very centre of the roses.
