In The Studio Mer-mazing 8×8 card tutorial
Hello Crafters, I hope you are all well! Today I have a tutorial for you using ITS Studio Mer-mazing collection. I love this collection, anything to do with the ocean is just my cup of tea! The colours are beautiful teal, aqua, soft green sand and skin tones all complement each other perfectly and will be suitable for children’s cards as well as adults and home decor projects….so let’s get started!
For this card, you will need
In The Studio Mer-Mazing collection
8×8 blank white card base
Sky background paper (mine is from Watercolour Scene Builder 006 download )
In The Studio By The Sea collection – Driftwood die and download
Square dies for the aperture frame
Glue
Foam pads etc
- Step1 Die cut all your pieces so that you have them ready to use lay them out so you can see what you are working with I find this so much easier this way I also make sure I have cut plenty so that I don’t have to keep stopping and starting to cut more artwork if I think I need more. Step 2 Cut your 8×8 card down to 7.5” x 7.5” I do this so that it will fit into an 8 x8 envelope as you will be adding height to your project.
- Step 3 Using you square dies to cut an aperture from Kraft card and add foam tape to give height Step 4 Cut you Kraft card down to 7 1/4”x 7 1/4” You’re silver down to 7 “x 7” And your teal paper to 6 3/4”x 6 3/4”layer on top of your card using adhesive I like to add foam pads to at lease one layer to give height but you don’t have too it’s totally up to you
- Step 5 Glue your sky scene in the centre of the card followed by Neptunes oasis . Attach the frame on top you are now ready to decorate.
- Step 6 using glue gel add all your decorative pieces to the card I layered my mermaid to give extra dimension just play around adding layers follow the photo of the completed card to give you a guide as to where to attach your die cuts I started with the driftwood and then layered my pieces on top of them
- Step 7 Add additional shells and crystal’s around the frame and lots of glitter for that extra sparkle , add a little Raffia bow at the base and your card is complete .
Thank you Katherine for sharing your tutorial x
You a very welcome!😊
