Hello Card
A few weeks ago we hit 1000 followers on Instagram, a lovely milestone to achieve! To mark the occasion, we created a fun aperture card. What follows below is the Timelapse video, and a step by step break down on how this card comes together.
- Step 1: On an 8×8” card black add your mats and layers and your patterned papers. Here I am using the deep green from the Craft Master Apple Pie Cardstock and a patterned paper from Field Of Dreams.
- Step 2: To create your aperture, align the outer die from the Circle Twig Wreath on the front of your card, use a ruler to help centralise the die. Tape die in place using repositionable tape, being careful to tape the majority of the tape to the inside of the circle, the part that will cut away. When running your card through the die cutting machine, be sure to open the card fully to only cut through the front of the card.
- Step 3: To the inside of the card, add the same mats and layers as the front of your card.
- Step 4: Add a layer of construction acetate to the inside front cover of your card. Stick the acetate using red line tape. The acetate should be trimmed a little smaller that 8×8” so it fits without overlapping the front edge of the card.
- Step 5: Stick your Circle Twig Wreath to the acetate, framed on the front of your card by the aperture. Use Pinflair All Stick glue, its easier to stick to a shiny surface like acetate. Cut your sentiment and mat layers from Nature’s Alphabet.
- Step 6: Cut a selection of flowers and begin arranging them around one side of the wreath. Lay out your design first before sticking.
- Step 7: Stick your letters to their mat layers and, just like with the flowers, lay them out on your design to check the placement.
- Step 8: Once you are happy with the layout begin sticking your flowers. Be sure to shape the flowers using a ball tool or end of a pokey tool and give the flowers a little lift by sticking them with Pinflair Glue Gel.
- Step 9: Stick your sentiment, lifted on foam pads, across the front of your circle. Finish with a butterfly to the letter “o”.
