FOTM Tulip Hinged Card by Dawn
Today I am sharing a quick how to blog on how to create a hinged card design featuring the FOTM Tulip from Two Red Robins.
For this project you will need
Craft Master Kinetic Kreators Tunnel Card Die Set
Two Red Robins Flower Of The Month Tulip Bundle
White Cardstock
Coloured Card – this project features the plum colour from the Craft Master Damson Crumble
Construction Acetate
Red Liner Tape
Sentiment
- Make two hinges from cardstock matching your designs colour scheme, using the concertina die, folding them in half after making the pleats.
- Using red liner tape down one side of the hinges, fix them to the two side edges of a folded card A5.
- Decorate the front of the A5 (landscape). Here I have chosen a clean and simple design, with the tulips to one side and the sentiment in a circular die cut. I have also inked the edges of the card with a colour matching the theme. You can either use the die cuts, or create a design on My Craft Studio.
- Next I printed the same design as on the outer card, onto printable acetate, cut to size, keeping the width (A5 landscape).
- I then have printed another image, this time as more of a border and again trim the construction acetate down to fit the card and sit within the concertina folds.
- These two pieces of printed construction acetate are then fixed into the concertina hinges either side using red liner tape for stability. These form pockets within the card to put small versions of cards and envelopes…. Or even a bar of chocolate, small gifts in envelopes.
- Finally fix a ribbon or tie to the back which acts as a closure and keeps things inside.
