Come behind the scenes with me….

We know you love a little look behind the scenes so while I’m in the building for some Brother ScanNCut shows here’s a tour of what goes on backstage at Create & Craft!

Create & Craft broadcasts out of Nene House in Oundle, near Peterborough. Within the building you’ll find the two studios for all the Create & Craft and Craft Extra shows as well as all of the technical areas that are all needed to bring you the live tv shows!

In between shows we can prep and relax in the Green Room, it’s a great creative place and it’s always a lot of fun catching up with the other craft guests.

In the studios are the various sets for the different shows. Having a variety of sets lends itself to the different show formats and means you can usually leave your show in place for the run rather than having to break everything down at the end of each hour. For each show we build what is called a “Pack Shot”. This is an area to display the products alongside the samples created by the Design Team. In our guest demo area we have our “pods” these contain all our bits and bobs, tools, and demo prep for each show.

When the shows are live you have a bank of cameras in front of you and a couple of screens to show you what the viewers at home are seeing and also the next lined up shot which helps you anticipate what to show and when (assuming you get the right camera which doesn’t always happen!).
