3D Book Box Instructions by Kath W
- Step 1 To create the book cover, fold the outer pages at the score lines.
- Step 2 Attach double-sided tape to the edge, hold the inner spine along the edge of the page, and remove the tape and fix in place. Do the same with the other page. Glue the other spine piece to the front.
- This is now the book cover.
- Step 3 Mark with a pencil 2mm down from the top of the back page, and 2mm in from the outer edge. Do the same at the bottom of the page, and connect the lines.
- Step 4 Score and fold the frame top and bottom pieces, glue one edge to the top of book cover, and the other to the bottom (using the pencil marks as a guide).
- Step 5 Score and fold the two longer frame pieces, add double-sided tape to one edge, fold over, and hold in place. Remove the tape.
- Step 6 Glue the larger frames in position. Left frame against the cover, fold the other along the outer edge, 2mm pencil mark guide. Decorate the inside of the frame before gluing the top and bottom tabs to the frames. You can do this step before you glue the frames in place if you wish, just keep the design inside the pencil marks.
- Step 7 Once the inside of the frame is decorated, fold over the top and bottom tabs, glue down at each corner. Glue the outer frames on top.
- Step 8 Score and fold both edges of the outer spine panel, curve slightly with your fingertips, glue one side in position, then the other, making sure to keep the curve. Decorate the rest of the book with your chosen backing papers.
